About Neil Brown

I spent childhood summers at our family cottage in Manitoba where there was a local ski club down the shoreline. As far back as I can remember, every summer day was spent at the ski club either behind the boat, or in it waiting for my turn; it was an obsession. I was introduced to the Manitoba Waterski Team while still in grade school, which lead to a decade of regional and national competition. Gravitating quickly towards wakeboarding when it was a new sport, my background thrust me into national, international and professional competition.
Excited to share my passion, I took an interest in coaching at a very young age, and became a nationally accredited coach by 18. This background lead me towards 'Wake Events' development and also shaped wake specific coaching programs that have evolved into the Canadian coaching certification programs of today.
A number of winters went by, wakeboarding in Florida with a solid crew from Ontario, and it was the 1st Wakestock contest in Bala that brought me to Muskoka in 1998. I fell in love with the beautiful shorelines of Muskoka cottage country and migrated to Ontario to help run a wake school and grassroots wake event called the X cup. It was Paul, from Pride Marine that had sponsored these events, and I've had my wagon hitched to Pride ever since. I feel very fortunate to have found a career where I can share my passion and enrich lives through a better experience on the water.
